><))o> a blessing in disguise
#awhile ago, i was "grumbling" unhappliy on my blog that a floral skirt which i have set my eyes on was sold out when i decided to buy it...and guess what? I found the same skirt at far east today!! Hehe...today, my whole family together with my cousin and cousin-in-law, went to a famous teo chew restaurant at chinatown to celebrate mother's bday in advance. After the yummy dinner, my brother and i went down to orchard rd as i told my mum i wanted to buy a skirt (not the floral skirt) at far east. So down to far east i went. I'm sure all of you probably know that far east shopping centre can get so complicated that it's impossible to find a shop there esp. if it's along some corner yah? So thats what happened to me...i forgot which shop was it and in the end, walked around the shopping centre instead. I saw this very nice shop and decided to go in and take a look at the skirts there. Lo and Behold, i found the exact floral skirt which i initially wanted to buy...and it was $3 cheaper than the one at Shaw Towers...after trying on the skirt, my bro forced me to buy it as he was anxious to leave...and the best part is that besides the skirt being 3 bucks cheaper, it was actually one 20% discount!! So i got the skirt at $10 cheaper than the one at Shaws...aww...i'm feeling so lucky...guess my lastest shopping curse was actually a blessing in disguise..*amy beams*

#went to wisma after that and bro bought a demin jeans from Samuel & Kevin...i got a peach top from Pepper Plus...i went home feeling happy...the best shopping trip i ever had...

><))o> June holidays finally arrives

#above is the jigsaw puzzle which my bf made for me...it was actually for my bday but he didnt buy the frame together with the puzzle...so the puzzle was left "hibernating" at his house for nearly 2 months! On monday, he surprised me with the belated gift...aww..the puzzle is so cute with all the baby mickey, minne, chicks and esp the kittens!..unlike normal jigsaw, every piece of the jigsaw is of a unique shape...hehe...i will be hanging this very sweet gift up soon!

#If you have noticed, i have made some slight changes to improve my blog...copied off the command from jingmin's diary and now i have a mobile sort of table for my "indulgence" and i was able to shift my "wish list" to the left, saving some space so that its not so tiring for you people to have to scroll down to read all the side info and tagboard...*amy beams*although the june holidays have yet to start officially, today can be considered the last day of the term, (heck care about all CCA commitments on sun and all those tutorial makeup lessons that we have to attend next week!). On the 2nd week of june, my class is doing a Service Learning project involving children. We are going to organise 2 enrichment lessons, Fun with Science and Fun with Arts for the children at Yishun Childcare centre...my gang and i are in the logistics committee...at 1st we thought its quite a slack com. but after coming up with all the things we need to get, then we realised that its not such an easy job afterall esp with all the little details like newspapers, radio and even dry ice! Nonetheless, i'm looking forward to work with the children...but hopefully they are not too hyperactive....

#Lately the weather has been very weird...one moment the Sun sends its merciless rays onto the scroching grounds, another moment the lightning flashes non-stop among the storm clouds...wonder if mother nature is making human beings suffer for polluting the environment....Anyway, i took at pic of the sky at about 6 plus...the sky is pretty much filled with storm clouds...i can still hear the thunder...

...and suddenly...it started RAINING...

><))o> The American Idol 3 results
#WEEEE....Fantasia won!! I'm so happy for her!!! I was thinking that this time, a white is gonna win...(due to the so-called "white and black equality" thingy in America)...ruben won the last season so i thought this time round, its gonna be diana...but...FANTASIA SANG SO WELL LAST NIGHT!!! Her second song, SUMMERTIME, is WOAH!! Her last song, I BELIEVE, just "nailed it" (quoted from Simon)...

SUPERB...JUST SUPERB!

><))o> a date with an old friend
#Its a short day for me today with the lessons ending at 1pm...but i chose to skip chemistry lecture for kangwei's badminton match and ended my day at 12.15pm...haha...today, AJ badminton girls and boys teams are playing again TJ and ACJC respectively...although kangwei gave her best in the doubles, the girls eventually lost both single and doubles to TJ...the guys team however seemed to be trashing ACJC although i have no idea what's the score or if we had won...i hope we have!

After the match, i went to Jurong Point to meet up with Shaozhen...its been about 2 months since i last saw her and it seems that everytime we meet, we can just talk and talk for hours...we went to MacDonald first and i bought an ice-cream. Halfway through our conversation, shaozhen said this, "I dont know if i should be telling you this..it's about zhenbin". Thinking that she was probably gonna tell me something which i dont wanna hear, i replied, "Eh..don't tell me now.. I might just vomit out my ice-cream!". So the conversation continued for a while more before shaozhen look at someone beside me and said, "Zhenbin". Curious at why she said that,my view shifted to my right, only to find zhenbin standing right beside me! Gosh! i could have just kicked myself for saying that i would vomit if i hear anything about him...luckily he havent heard it. According to zhenbin, he saw me and shaozhen walking and decided to catch up with us but eventually lost sight of us and so he went around looking for us. As he went into Mac, shaozhen saw him and wanted to tell me but i stupidly shut shaozhen up only to get myself in for a surprise later on....*sigh* an impt lesson learnt - listen more than you talk!

Found out that zhenbin will be serving the nation in about 15 days from now...so good luck to him...after he left, me and shaozhen went to Billy Bombers. We had 1 set of cheese fries, and 1 glass oreo and cream milkshake. The serving is so huge that we almost couldnt finish even though it was meant for one person! The cheese fries is just marverllous!Sinfully-delicious i must say...that is of course if you are crazy about cheese like me! The milkshake...well...its very nice too with pieces of oreo which you can chew on...yum yum..with all the nice food and stuff, its no wonder that we sat and talk from 2.30pm to 6! We talked about loads of stuff...life, friends, plans after As...and of course...how school life just suck big time! Typical students eh? Well, its been nice to be able to sit down and talk with her...do meet up soon again k shaozhen?!

><))o> the "big walk"
#Went shopping with mum today...we went to chinatown first in search of nice floral fabric to make some skirts...we found a very pretty fabric but it cost $21 per metre...very expensive..so we decided to do some market survey and went down to bugis and orchard to look at the lastest fashion...its pink everywhere we go...pink is just so hot now...guess i'm struck by the pink fever too...i bought a pink top...haha..went to Shaw Tower to find a floral skirt which i have previously laid my eyes on...too bad it was sold out...*sigh* I'm kinda unlucky at shopping...everytime i see something which i like, i tend to think too much and end up not buying and when i decided to buy it, the item would be sold out or the shop will close down...sounds unbelievable i know..but it has happened to me many times...haha...then again..material things are not really that important in life so guess i'm not really affected by this unfortunate curse..=)

After a long day of window shopping, mum and i went back to Chinatown and had the famous yong tau hu for dinner...yum yum...the tau hu is not your normal tau hu...it has a hidden flavour of sweetness and saltiness within it...delicious...=))

Tomorrow is the start of a new week *grumbles*...bio class test coming up...hope i'm prepared for it...dont wanna end up flunking another bio test...*sigh* i'm feeling those stress hormones again....Darn! I wish whichever gland which is producing those hormones can break down or something...then again..WISHFUL thinking!

><))o> The Shiatsu Showdown
#okie dokie...i've got the shiatsu images up...so to all girls who have bad menstrual cramps, to all guys who have girlfriends with bad menstrual cramps and to all those who have irritating headaches, migraines, diarrhea , hope this would be useful to you pple...

#Shiatsu means "finger pressure" and helps to:
-increase stamina
-relieve stress and fatigue
-improve sexual vitality
-improve complexion and skin tone
-relieves headaches, lower back pain and a host of other common ailments

#Menstrual pain may involve nausea or headache, but the main symptom is abnormally painful uterine cramps. Such cramps may be caused by weakness in the uterine muscles or the abnormal position of the uterus, making the expulsion of menstrual blood difficult. Emotional factors and hormonal imbalance are other factors often mentioned in connection with menstrual pain. By practicing Shiatsu during the premenstrual days can make a noticeable improvement in how you feel during this time.
Women who are prone to menstrual pain often carry tension in the lower abdomen and back as well as shoulders and neck, particularly at the back of the neck. Relieving tension in the lower abdomen and back during th epremenstrual days will help prevent painful cramps, and giving regular shiatsu to these areas will correct hormone imbalances and condition the uterus.

1. Apply strong pressure to the medulla oblongata with overlapping middle fingers.
#Pressure to the medulla oblongata is essential in treating many ailments, including headaches, migraines, and hangovers. This point is easily found at the indentation at the top of the neck just below the base of the skull. When you feel fatigued, pressing this point will bring a mild sense of relief. Medium to strong thumb pressure is standard.

2. Apply strong three-finger pressure to the upper-shoulder points.
3. Apply thumb pressure to the 5 lower-back points on either side of the spine, giving
strong pressure to the last points.
4. Press the 4 points that run diagonally across each buttock, then the sternal points,
esp the first.

5. Press the lower abdominal and groin points, using palm pressure to both sides at once.

6. Give special attention to the Namikoshi points.
#This point in beneficial in treating diarrhea, menstrual problems, and other ailments in the region of the hips. A Namikoshi point can be found on either side of the buttocks over a nerve that branches out from the sciatic nerve, approx. 2 inches (at a slight diagonal) from the point where the pelvic bone protrudes at the hip. In general, strong thumb pressure is required.

><))o> stay PMS-free!
#sigh...it's friday and what am i doing now? Well...waiting for my gp lesson to start...Oh man...it's friday but i cnt go home early...and the week has to end with double gp period...gosh...very taxing on my neurons!!
Anyway...just wanna say a big thank you to Ms Kwan-Terry...she got to realise that i have pretty horrible menstral cramps and photocopied some information on "Shaitsu" (finger pressure in jap) for me that shows different type of massaging that would help to relieve the cramps...she also gave me some additional info on what food are good to ease cramps and what food are the culprits for bad cramps..so tot i wanna share it with all the girls out there whether you need it or not..afterall...its good knowledge to keep it at the back of your head yah? Here goes..

Food you should eat:
-bananas (its been proven by scientist that the iodine in bananas helps to relieve cramps).
-Cranberries

Food you should not eat:
-coffee, tea
-cold drinks
-ice-cream

#Apparently, girls who have bad cramps tend to have weaker uterus...so the uterine walls have to work extra harder (by those painful contractions) to expel the useless tissues and blood vessels...i will try to post the "Shaitsu" method soon...anyone who has any useful information to share with me, do post it on my tagboard! =) *winkS*

><))o>Quotations..
#with so many violence and sufferings going around since the stone age till sadly, the present, civilised age which we live in, i thought it would be good to take a look at some quotations made by Mahatma Gandhi and reflect upon myself, the society and the world today...if you have any comments or thoughts you want to share about the quotes, do not hesitate to leave a message at my tagboard =)

On violence : True non-violence is mightier than the mightiest violence. -Mahatma Gandhi

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man [woman] whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him [her]. Will he [she] gain anything by it? Will it restore him [her] to a control over his [her] own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to swaraj [freedom] for the hungry and spiritually starving millions?
Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

- One of the last notes left behind by Gandhi in 1948, expressing his deepest social thought.

#lastest news: I just heard this from the 10pm news...its about the prosecution of one of the American soldiers who abused the Iraqi prisoner...the soldier has received a maximum sentence of 1 year jail term and stripped off of his post...MAXIMUM SENTENCE?!?! In my opinion, i think that's not enough to redeem whatever he had done and the consequences of his actions (the nick berg murder!)..is Bush and his cabinet serious about solving the problem of prisoner abuse? I highly doubt so!

><))o> The photos from Mikdao
#as promised, below are some of the pictures from mikado...

The male chorus grooving to the music!

Me and vanessa...the twins?!?

Intan and meimei getting all excited over the umbrellas and wanted to pose a picture with the umbrellas.

Both Jacintha, Meimei are beautifully dressed up for the concert...so is intan!

The above pic is joel, our choir president....eh...hardly fit the image of a president eh? Haha..in mikado, he is Lord Pooh-Bah, a male slut (quoted from Mr Nelson Kwei)!

The girl in gold is Eunice. She is playing the role of Katisha...an old hag who is desparate for love...on her left and right are vanessa and vejoy respectively at her command..haha..

The guy on the left is Wan Song while the guy on the right is our choir vice-president, Eugene. Eugene plays the role Mikado...well..in my opinion, he looks more like an emperor with the headdress...

Above is greg, who plays the role of Nanki-poo, looking very cute with that little "ponytail"!

Wah..my first impression of this pic is as if XiaoJing is doing a solo in Miss Saigon...but nah..she was infact doing a mike test!

#after being in Aj choir for 2 years...i am beginning to think that my choir is like a matchmaking agency...it has create opportunities for many of which some of those blossom into romance....and to think that i have all along thought there was only 3 couples in choir..i was so terribly wrong..there is actually 5 and one suspected case! Gosh..i'm slow as usual...i only found out about the other 2 confrimed case on the day of the concert itself!*grumbles* Here's AJ choir's sucessful matches:

My most favourite couple of all! Charlotte and yong boon make just such a sweet pair of couple...and whenever you see them, you tend to wonder if those cupid arrows are forever hitting onto their butts!

The carrying of jingling by senghuat came as a shock. As kiasu and as kan chiong as the paparazzi, i grabbed my camera and managed to get this precious shot. They make a fantastic couple man!

My apologies for the blur photo...the above couple is Aj choir's boss and da sao, Joel and Ve'Joy...very cute couple but they very secretive!

Well..they are not a couple yet...but eunice and wansong are defintely the rumoured next couple-to-be...they are forever together....*tsk*

#the other two couples are Kelvin and yimei, and Jeanette and mark...because these two couples are extremely shy, they have requested not to upload their pics....NAH...GOTCHA! Actually its because i couldnt find those two lovebirds...they have managed to find themselves some very good hideouts to whisper sweet nothings to each other..=P

><))o> A magical night in Japan
#Eh..dont get me wrong..i didnt get to spend a nite in japan itself..instead what i meant is that i had a wonderful nite performing the opera, Midako, as a Japanese schoolgirl. For those who have no idea what am i talking about, let me update u. Yesterday was AJ choir cum dance society's public concert. It was held at the kallang theatre (the acoustic there sucks big time! On a brighter note, we are compensated with bigger dressing rooms unlike those of Victoria Concert Hall!) Everything just happened so fast..the concert started at 7.30pm with the dance society blowing the audiences away with their "professional dancing" (Quoted from a few of the audiences). At 8.45pm, it was the choir's turn to bring the crowd to Titiput, a town in Japan which never existed. I was more nervous than i expected myself to be and when it was the girl chorus to go on stage and sing, i would practically feel my heart pounding away...i was so nervous that i couldnt sing properly!! Foruntately, after a while, i managed to calm down and recollect myself. I was so relieved to see joe and shuqi right at the front...shuqi waved at me and i smiled back. I could also see leena, obviously amused, displaying her set of white teeth..and just to name a few more, shuxin....ardi...hueychyi... Slowly, i found myself having a great time on stage, acting all frivolous and bitchy. The audiences laughed..alot. Each time we hear the laughter, we knew we had done it and all of us felt the immerse satisfaction within us. At the end of the concert, we knew we had gave our best and we are proud of it. For me, the end of the concert is somewhat bittersweet...it was probably my last concert for the rest of my life and probably my last time working under my conductor, Mr Nelson Kwei. I went over to Mr Kwei and thanked him for his guidance for the past six years and told him to take care of himself..we hugged each other...and with 2 last songs, this marks the end of the concert and brings me a step closer to the closure of my choral singing. Next saturday will be the last time i will be performing as an Aj choir member for speech day..*sigh* I know this magical journey of choral singing will end someday..i'm happy and thankful that through choir, i have discover my passion for singing and appreciating choral music. Reflecting upon the past six years of my life, as a student and doubled as a performer, i have found joy in bringing music and delivering the emotions of a song to audiences. I am also grateful for all the people who have gave me chances to realise my fondest dreams. People like Mr Nelson Kwei, Mr Ferdinand Quek, Mr Andy Quek (hmm...all guys eh?)...my thanks goes out to them for they not only allowed me to explore my singing abilities but also acting abilities (Mr Ferdinand Quek gave me the opportunity to act as an Egyptian bitch in Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat in 2002) and even modelling abilites (Mr Andy Quek chose me and JingLing as female representatives from choir to pose for some photo shoots though i thought there were much better candidates around!). They have sprinkle and injected colours into this choral journey of mine..so a very big thank you to all. And to all my fellow choir friends like vanessa, jeslin, vivien, eunice, xiaojing and many others : thank you for all the wonderful memories that you people have left in my heart!*sob* *sob* Ok...let move on to some pics..sorry i only have time to upload a few..i will be uploading more pics!

The makeup artists, intan, meimei and jacintha applying makeup for us to make all of us look very "wayang"!

A picture taken just before the concert...everyone looking a very "wayang" but beatiful!!

This picture was taken a day before the actual concert. The dance did a very abstract production...and the beauty of complexity shone through as they danced. Ying Ying, my very pretty friend was one of the main dancers!! She danced so gracefully...i was just so amaZed by their steps...fantastic performance from them i would say!

><))o>a world where history continues to repeat itself
#i'm sure by now many of you may have heard of the murdering of Nick Berg by the iraqi terrorists..it is just an extremely cruel act that violated humanity laws..when i heard the news, the whole scene was there..so vivid..in my mind...and this morning, it was in the papers...3 pages at least, had reports on it...during gp today, i got so disturbed as i was reading the first report that i stopped reading halfway through the article and gave leena the subsequent pages that had similar articles...i just couldn't allow myself to picture the crude scene again...jacintha cried when she read about the news...i was too, on the verge of tears for an innocent man was made the scapegoat to redeem the sins which he had not committed. I feel disappointed that we humans, are blessed with the sense of logic and reasoning...yet we commit such barbaric acts. I'm not referring to just those terrorists alone...but the Americans as well. As an ex-history student, i understand that history is suppose to make us learn from past mistakes and avoid making the same mistakes...yet why do history continue to replicate and war triumphant over peace? The United Nations, an evolved world organistion of League of Nations failed to talk US out of the war...The Geneva convention which was meant to protect prisoners of war was probably hardly or never observed. As a result, violence breeds violence...as everyday passes by, humans as a whole achieved nothing but accumulating pages of violence in the historical text. Noble? I hardly think so!
In typing this blog, many of you probably would sense my strong emotions. Well, i do not side the US neither do i support the terrorists of their actions..however, i stand for peace and only wish that killings and sufferings can stop afterall, from a biologist point of view, humans are 99.99% smiliar in genetic makeup arent we?

><))o> the tortoise and the hare
#ever heard of the story about the tortoise and the hare? Yah..who havent...Anyway above is a pic which i took. The two figurines (a tortoise and a hare made from seashells) is bought by my mum when she was in malacca (cute things like this attracts her attention!). Mum gave the hare to my brother and the tortoise to me. At first, i didn't think much of it since my brother is born in the year of the rabbit and the hare should rightfully be his. However, some unpleasant thoughts which i have shut my mind away from, began to "settle" comfortably into my mind.
While..you see, throughout my childhood days, especially during primary school days, my dad used to compare me to my brother. Unfortunately, i'm the stupid one while he's the intelligent one so my results often pale in comparison to him...i remembered his PSLE score was like 10 marks plus more than mine and dad was like over the moon...as it seems, my brother is really like the hare speeding way ahead of me while i'm like the tortoise with knee problems, trailing slowly behind. Over the years, i've come to terms with the situation i'm in..afterall, by working harder, i can make up for my lower intelligence yah? On the slightly positive side, the tortoise did eventually win the race right? *cheers*
So much about my past...today was a horrible day primarily because its a long day with only 2 pathetic breaks. Our PE teacher had to dismiss my class late and in the end, my gang and i were only left with 10mins to eat. Yanting, shuqi and shuxin were worse...they didnt even get to bathe and had to wear sweaters during maths lecture to hide their PE t-shirts underneath. *sigh* Wish the PE dept would just be more understanding!
After school, i went to Jurong Point to meet my bf. Saw the lazy cat again, sleeping at the pavement, amusing passerbys...just that this time, it woke up (finally!) and ran about...hehe..so cute...Initially, my bf and i wanted to eat and Banquet..but as usual, during peak hours, empty tables are VIRTUALLY EXTINCT. In the end, we settled for SIAM KITCHEN. We ordered red curry with prawns and pineapple, and stuffed chicken. The Thai curry is unique in a sense that beside being spicy, one can actually savour sweet, sour flavours and the coconut milk lingers just a while longer after each swallow to warrant you that you must have another spoonfull of curry! As for the stuffed chicken, the bones are miraculously removed and replaced with minced meat and veggie-a must try for all!
Opps...hadn't intend to type so much today...my apologies to those who get migrains at the sight of lengthy entries like mine. My apology also to shuxin>> sorry to make you feel guilty...don't worry k..you will be able to make up to your mum..mummies are easy to please!*winks*
Below is just another pic of just my cute tortoise...as you can see..there's a pic of a cute kitten (an evidence that cats are just SO "my cup of tea"!). on the left, there's a bear figurine..it's given to me by ShaoZhen and Wanling on my (eh 12th) birthday and on the right, its a crystal ball given to me by my bf on my 16th birthday...i love that gift because when you shake the crystal ball, tiny bits of heart-shaped fragments just swirls around the two cuddling bears- a symbolic of love if you must call it!

><))o> mikado
#mikado is the opera which my choir is doing this year for AJ's 20th anniversary celebration...been practising extremely hard for it...like today...the practice only ended at 8.30pm by the time i changed out of the costume and reached home, its already 9.30pm. Luckily mum is considerate enough to wait for me and my bro to come home before preparing dinner and after i bathed, i was just in time for dinner...=) Anyway, yesterday mum was surprised with the flowers i had brought..yeah..*mission accomplished* but sadly, i didn't choose the flowers very well..one of the orchids started to wilt...
=(..nevertheless the flowers as a whole still looked beautiful..=)
The tag board is finally up and functioning again not because those tagboard technicians have fixed the problem but rather i signed up for a new tagboard...yep...so people, keep those comments coming in!
This wednesday going to support AJ BBall boys for the match against HCJC...woah...tough fight...i'm praying hard that we will win..good luck to the bball boys and girls!

><))o> It's Mothers' Day
#yup..it's mothers' day today..initially i planned to give mum a surprise by bringing her out shopping and buying her a watch...two days ago, she booked a one-day tour to malacca and went there with the tour group today!! *sigh* felt so disappointed...wanted to spend the special day with her...anyway...i had a surprise for her today...i went to the market (yes..the market) and got her flowers...wanted to look for pink carnations but apparently those pink carnations have been sold out...so i chose some red and yellow carnations and some orchids and placed them in a "vase" on the dinning table(my mum like orchids!)...i also bought some for my bf's mother and wrap them up myself (cos the wrappings done at the market is so atrocious that i didnt think it was worth the $!)..hope mum would come home today and be surprised by the flowers...i love my mum...=)

><))o>A fun-filled evening and an encounter with the Banana Bomber
[Banana Bomber, part I]

[ My gang and I were waiting for the train after a heavy dinner and suddenly we noticed a suspicious character placing a small, black briefcase at the entrance of the mrt! Oh NO! What shall we do? Should we inform the staff or call 999? And why is the banana bomber smiling?? Is she satisfied with herself and her action?]

#Well, that's the banana bomber, part I for you...as you read on my blog, we will see what happens (dont peek!). Anyhow, yesterday was a wonderful day for me...after my speech day rehearsal, i went to SSDC with my bf to register for his driving practical. Afterwhich, we went to Little India and indulge ourselves with the famous Muthu's Curry. We ordered chicken curry (cos apollo fish head was beyond our budget). Unlike normal curry that makes you feel as if dozens of volcanos have popped out on your tongue and started erupting, the chicken curry leaves a tingling sensation at the back of your throat instead- heavenly delicious!

#As soon as i got home from the lunch (which is at 6pm), i went at supersonic speed to bathe, get changed and off to meet my gang! It was a pretty exciting outing for us as its the first time we went out as a group but its a pity that intan couldnt join us *regrets*. Anyway, i was late...terribly late! Suppose to meet my gang at 6.30pm but i arrived at Suntec only at 7.10pm..luckily they are pretty understanding people *Phew*. On the way to suntec, i ran into the whole AJ bball team...and waved to Yonghao..
[ Banana Bomber, part II]

[ Just what does that briefcase contains? Guns? EXPLOSIVES?!?! Should we see what's inside before we alarm the authorities just incase we make a fool out of ourselves? Questions and decisions raced through our mind...finally, we decided to peek into the contents of the briefcase....]
#After finally meeting my gang, we headed down to the HILFY Parade held at Singapore River and stretches all the way to the area behind esplanade. To our disappointment, there it was nothing much of a carnival as we had expected. Instead, there were just some big balloons of dogs, ducks, crab and even one in durian! As for the flee market that was supposed to exist, it never did exist*swears*. Feeling slightly disappointed, we decided to head to Lau Pat Sat for dinner!

#The journey however, was a "perilous" one as my horrible sense of direction threatened my gang several times from reaching our destination!*sigh* When we reached Raffles Place, we decided to ask a security guard for directions. Leena was assigned the mission. The old man being cocky, shot back at Leena asking her if she was a Singaporean, and all of us just burst into laughters because Leena with her African look, sloppy sch uniform, bag and her small briefcase certainly look nothing close to the normal Singaporeans!

#At the Lau Pat Sat, we treated ourselves to singaporean delights like chicken rice (Jacintha's Dinner), Western Food (Marlin's dinner), chicken with wanton noodles (Leena's Dinner) and i had dumpling noodles. To top it all, we had deserts!! Marlin had ice-kachang while i ordered Longan with almond pudding! As for meimei, she had strawberry kisses for dinner and desert (as usual..her strawberry craze!)

The ultimate desert for strawberry lovers like meimei-the strawberry kisses. Its available at Lat Pat Sat for $2.50. But according to our critic, meimei, the ice-cream has a medicinal taste!

Leena looking all ready for a nose-digging session!

clockwise from left:Leena, meimei, jacintha and marlin looking happy after dinner!
It was just an enjoyable day despite the HILFY parade disappointment! Hope to go out with my gang again soon! I have uploaded all the pics
we took yesterdays...do go and take a look!
[ Banana Bomber, part III]

><))o>mugging maths and going mad
#tomorrow is the maths test and i still feel like i havent really master the skills of presenting my solutions properly...what's more worrying is that i heard tomorrow's maths test is going to be a paper filled with questions of high order thinking...what the (*^@#&*%...i was already struggling with the tys questions which mrs soon ask the class to do and now the math test is gonna be even more difficult than tys?! *sigh* Looks like tomorrow there's going to be a massacre of my neuron cells. Today we had gp essay timed practice..its on politics...*curses*...hate the whole thing about politics...its really an area where you see the worse of human nature! Anyway..found out that i have probably gone out of pt (as usual) as i discuss the question with my bf...argh...i really feel dumb...*sigh* gotta mug for maths...another round of brain cells execution session!

><))o> turn left turn right
#the picture below is just for laughs..its taken during a chemistry tutorial when simon and leena happened to sit parallel to each other and the whole class was joking and laughing at them. I once uploaded this pic to msn group but that leena went to delete it..now its at my blog...MUhaha...she cant do anything to it!!Yeah!

><))o>09/03 General Elections
#in an attempt to make gp lessons more interesting, my gp tutor came up with this idea of holding an election where the class are divided into 6 groups and assigned to act as different system of governments and use our propaganda skills to win the elections. Today was my group's turn to present...our system is...COMMUNIST...haha...we named ourselves the "See-Saw Society" with see-saw representing equality lah...kinda bombarded by the class with questions..heng the school bell saved us..Muhaha...afterwhich we carried out the voting and Leena's group, DAKIN, won. Aiyah...mainly cos leena and simon very entertaining lah...they did what the class always wanted them to do - be a couple! Haha..leena's group is the absolute monarch governing system. Leena is the queen named Queen Elizabeth Leena III while simon is the king named King Blah Blah Simon..i dont remember his highness name liao...hehe...overall, their group is the funniest and they crap about singapore having a gold mine as being one of the state secrets. Quite a few of us were "fooled" into voting for them cos of the gold mine....haha...anyway, the whole rally thing is very enjoyable!

This is the balloting ticket. The first row is CAP (Citizen Action Party) which is a democratic govt. The second row is my group's party! The third row is meimei's party, JAP (Justice for All People) which is a consitutional monarchy. The fourth row is Benard's party, DPPP (Dont Play Play Party) with Phua Chu Kang as their party's mascot (cnt remember what govt. are they though...). The fifith row is Una Recola which Intan belongs to (a dictatorship party with Tan Zhi Hao as Dictator Tan..somehow i'm still not convinced of his capability...muhaha!*evil laughs*)Lastly, it's Queen Leena Banana's party, DAKIN!

The above is the propaganda material used by my group...a tool to fool the already foolish into voting for us...MUHAHA...(but lost to DAKIN by 2 votes...suay!)

><))o> kucinta
#Kucinta is affectionately known as the Singapore cat...and Singapore cat as compared to their counterparts living in malaysia and some other countries, are having more of a "luxurious" life. It kinda just occurred to me how kind-hearted towards animals Singaporeans can be when i was staring in disbelief at a cat at Boon Lay MRT station while waiting for the grand arrival of my bf. This cat, of all places, chose to nap right smack in the middle of a pavement directly outside the exit of Boon Lay MRT station during peak hour. Afraid that someone is going to step on the cat, i decided to keep a look out for the cat (since the cat slept like a log!). To my amazement, everyone who is sensible enough noticed the cat and walked on either side of the cat, not wanting to disturb it. Those who are not so sensible (children and childish adults) simply poke the cat using the umbrella tip or shout at the cat telling it to wake up. One little boy eventually woke the cat with his shouts but apparently, the cat slept again after stoning for a while and doing some stretching. This time, it slept in a even more outrageous position, with one of its arm outstretched. Seeing how caring the general public are, i could helped but feel proud of Singaporeans because in Malaysia, cat abuse is just so rampant! As for the cat, it certainly had a sweet dream!*meow*

><))o> rain rain go away...
#for some very mysterious reason, the clear skies were suddenly covered with storm clouds and it started to rain! Was freezing inside the lecture theatres..even the usually "scorching" hot canteen was cooler than usual. I'm now still slacking away in school waiting for my choir practice to start. Perhapes i could have gone home at 1pm if not for the speech day rehearsal which starts at 3.45pm!! *sigh*with meimei now in the computer lab...seems like meimei had just sucessfully wrote a thesis kind of blog..its sooooooo long...haha..she wrote about what happened yesterday during the class rally (election sort of thing) where we are divided into groups and assigned to protray different systems of govt (communist, absolute monarch, etc)..my group is *tsk *tsk...not telling...but guess most probably the class knows...haha..anyway my group's rally is tomorrow..hope can persuade my very DEMANDING class to vote for my group...hehe...gotta go for choir now!*muakS*

><))o>stress is a killer
#I was reading shuxin's blog before i update mine...read about how her sister scored 4 As yet up till now NUS hasnt called up her sister to go for interview for medicine faculty. Immediately i can feel those stress hormones being released like free-flow coke..looks like my chances of going medicine faculty is super slim...have to forgo my forensic pathologist dream *sob*. Actually its not as if i don't know where i stand (with a lousy foundation for chemistry!!)...i have thought of other career paths..guess the next best after forensic pathologist would be a scientific officer, working in the labs and do those testings to provide evidences for the criminology dept..but seems like i gotta take either molecular biology, biochemistry in university in order to meet the pre-requisite for the job. The pathetic thing is neither of the course interest me..my dad wants me to do something more on chemistry (due to the unfortunately wide application of chemistry)..to please him, i told him i would go for biochemistry if i cant get into medicine...the thought having anything to do with chemistry just irks me. *sigh* Stress stress stress! Only about 6 months left...gotta chiong soon...
Think i should go and get some rest now and prepare myself for an intellectually-challenging day ahead of me!

p/s: poor intan burnt her hand yesterday..for more details, go to meimei's blog
to find out more..

><))o>sunday = lazed day
#Well..not exactly lazed day actually...i have some very ambitious plans for today. Let's take a look at my agenda for 2th may:
1.go through the stack of newspapers that has been pilling up since centuaries ago.
2.do some research to prepare for next week's gp essay.
3.study for maths.
4.go out with mum in the evening.
5.read my chemistry lecture notes on NMR(Nuclear Magnetic Resonance- to me, its more like No Man Really understand)

Well..gotta put a tick to my first task. Kinda took a few hours to manually scan through the papers. As for the rest *sheepish smile* gotta work on them after this blog! Well...nothing much happened today except that i accompanied mum to the market..=) Gotta be off from this blog thingy and concentrate on the "to dos" for today!

><))o>AJ I.C.S ROCKS!
Although today is labour day (a public holiday for those cave-dwellers out there who doesnt know!), AJ I.C.S (Indian Cultural Society) faced a test before them and whether they win or not, its up to the reflexes of their mind and mouth to outwit, outlast and outtalk their opponents (JJC debate team) in the Battle Of Words 2004. It was shown live on Versatham Central this evening from 7 to 8.30pm. I was there with fellow non-indians like marlin, my bf, lishi to render our upmost support to the AJ I.C.S and most importantly, our classmate, Ganison. It was a bizzare decision to sit in for one and a half hours, not understanding and knowing what's going on...but we did it anyway, clapping and cheering at appropiate and some not-so-appropiate intervals...haha...It was really a nerve-wrecking session ...and when the winner was about to be announced, the whole studio was just slient and i could feel all my fingers gone cold...until the MC announced something JJC and everyone around me sprang up cheering loudly then i realised that AJC had won! Yeah! It was overall a truly enjoying experience for me to see the TLDDS members in a state of euphoria....and i was surprised to see my secondary school classmate, alamu being part of the JJ debate team..said "hi" and congrated her=) Below are some pics from today. For more pics, go to my pics

This is the banner which AJ TLDDS made...had no idea what those tamil words meant but i guess those are words of encouragement.

Leena holding up a banner with gansion's face on it!

Was so surprised to see lishi coming but she sure did her share of cheering (real loud somemore)

The AJ team on the hotseat before the start of the show..actually, all of them really looked very confident compared to the JJ team...but cnt blame the JJ debators..its really not easy being up there in the first place.

Ganison looking triumphant with the champion trophy in his hands (the AJcians are going to go like "wah" on monday morning..cos the trophy is really huge and we AJcians only "wah" when its a huge trophy-typical!)

p/s:Mr Tan aka MICKEY and Mrs Tay aka MINNIE were there too...
Shankar won the best speaker award...(more glory for the school!)

><))o>the blog bug
#Yesterday was helping leena to get her blog right....after spenting hours on it...we finally got a decent blog going, only to have the creator of the template to delete her image (cos apparently she was sicked of blog-idiots like us emailing her)..and upon putting the tagboard into the template, the alignment just went haywire...can see that by the end of the whole "getting-the-blog-right" thing, both me and leena's head were bloggy liao..the image is gone, the alignment sucks...leena sounded disappointed over the internet..and i felt so guilty...so this morning,i'm up again and meddling with her blog...and we did it! Now leena's blog is finally up and looking good (had no idea why the creator uploaded the image again..perhapes she got some death threats from users or what..hehe..)..yeah...so do visit leena's blog! Meimei and Shuxin just started their lovely blogs too!So yup...so visit meimei's blog and shuxin's blog!
