><))o> Reality is so hard to swallow nowadays

#3 days to A level Chemistry Practical Examination

#10 days to A level General Paper Examination

# The real thing is inching nearer!! Oh no!!

# Went for GP consultation with Intan today...after the usual "Ms Kwan-Terry-help-me-see-if-my-essay-layout-is-ok" thingy, I asked Ms Kwan-Terry if her current handphone has camera and if it was good. She is using a nokia blahblahblah hp (i don't know what's the number that goes with it but its a zero dollar hp if you sign up a 2 year contract with starhub....so just go and check the papers and you will know what i mean). Anyway....we started to digress from there...Ms Kwan-Terry started asking me if my dad was still as strict then i said "yah". Probing further, she asked how come i still turn out to be such a cheerful kind of person and i replied that its no point for me to sink into depression, might as well just shrugged the unhappiness off and i'll be happier. Then the conversation took a turn. Ms Kwan-Terry started to talk about herself.

Ms KT : My parents were also very strict.

Amy : Huh? Really meh? Thought your parents seemed like the "anything, anything" kind?

Ms KT : Yah lah...now they don't care about me but when i was young, in secondary and JC, they were very strict. Do your parents set a curfew for you?

Amy : Yep, be home by 7.

Ms KT : Mine was 5.

Amy : Oh man! 5?!? How to comply? Its so early! Cant get much things done also...

Ms KT : Yah loh. There was once i want to send a friend off at the airport but she is only leaving at 9 and in the end, i didn't get to send her off because my parents didn't allow me to.

Amy : Awww....

Ms KT : I was very rebellious then.

After saying that, she went on to say...

"I ran away from home before."

Me and intan immediately busted into laughters. Ms Kwan-Terry running away from home?!? It seemed like the last thing this mild-mannered, guai-looking kind of teacher would do. And she actually stayed at her friends house for "A FEW DAYS" putting her friend's parents into a fix of harbouring her and at the same time, handling her parents' phonecalls. I was like "WOW!" Really admire her courage for doing such a thing and at the same time, i was really amused by her confession. Oh well...it just goes to show that...

... every child yearns to be free and like a caged bird, the more you deny your child of freedom, the more your child seeks liberation...

# Haha...just a small tip to parents, parents-to-be and parents-will-be.

><))o> The As has came! So has my doom!!!

#6 days to A level Chemistry Practical Examination

#13 days to A level General Paper Examination

#Wow! Look at the dates!!! The core papers for A level is creeping near!!! How scarey!! I went through a very terrible session of Biology Practical on Thursday...

#After scanning through the papers, i decided to attempt the second question regarding effect of the wavelenght of light on the rate of photosynthesis using DCPIP (an oxidising agent with itself being reduced during photosynthesis) ...my choice of the first question to attempt proved to be a bad one - a very bad one indeed! First of all, we were told mash up pieces of leaves given in a cold buffer to produce a green leaf extract. Next, we have to add 5 drops of DCPIP (which were blue initially) to the leaf extract, ensuring at the same time that we do not expose the mixture to light for too long. This means that we have to rapidly remove and replace the aluminium foil over the extract! How irritating!! This experiment is really not for clumsy and panicky people like me!! Anyway...the mixture i got was dark green...pretty much difficult to tell if the DCPIP inside was being reduced over time or not (after complete reduction, the mixture would turn back to the original colour of the leaf extract which was light green). There were 5 capillary tubes containing the mixture- the colour standard, a tube completely exposed to light, a tube completely wrapped in aluminium foil, a tube placed under a green fliter and another under a red fliter.

#Over my 16 minutes of observation (yes...16 mins!! Its that long!) I squinted and squinted to try to make out if any changes happened...eventually, my results tell me that DCPIP in the tube under the red fliter was being reduced the faster meaning photosynthesis occured at a faster rate followed by the tube that was fully exposed to light, then the tube under the green fliter and lastly, the tube that was wrapped in aluminium foil.

#I hate to say this...but 2 years of physics in secondary school has taught me nothing! Or rather, i learnt nothing! I can't recall if the filter was supposed to filter all the other spectrum of light except the colour of the filter itself or let all the other spectrum of light through except for the colour of the filter itself. Now, that point is kinda crucial for the explanation part...but...I JUST COULDN'T RECALL! Oh well...i went along with my results and tried to make some sense of it! Hopefully its correct!

#After the horrifying question, i flipped the pages only to realise (to my horror again by the way) that there were at least 3 more sub parts to the question (what the O*^Y@(#) and one of it was a design experiment with 9 marks attached to it! I'm not a wimp or anything...but design experiments just freak me out (during O level physic practical, i left an entire design experiment out...and of course...subsequently how i got a B3 was a mystery...)

#After freaking out, i went on to the last question only to suffer mental block....it was a genetics question...i have absolutely no idea what the question was asking me! Feeling rather demoralised, i completed part of the question involving a chi-square test. (After the exam, i found out that if i had been more calm...i would have been able to read the genetics question in more detail and would have easily scored the marks! Oh...what a failure i am!) Went on with the first question which asked for plan and detailed drawings of kidney...relatively easy question i should say...then i did my design experiment which i later found out that was managable....=)

#The bio prac shocked everyone...having religiously mugged thru the past year practicals from the tys, the DCPIP question was really one of its kind...never in the history of bio practice has this experiment came out!! What the *#@$^(! Oh well...but its over...i'm happy at least that i didn't really screw up the experiment...or at least i hopped! =) Hope chemistry prac won't be such a killer!

-if i die (in bio prac), i'm sure many others will die with me...so what's there to fear?-

><))o> The making of a mugger

#There used to be a girl who was born into this carefree world (or so she thought). At kindergarden, she loves chinese and math, oftening scoring above 90 marks for these two subjects. She loves studying. She's simply good at it. Kindergarden was a breeze for her. She got into Rulang Primary School as an eager girl with a raw mind to start the next schooling phase of her life.

#There was a incident that happened when she was in Primary Two and up till today, its still fresh in her mind. She got home one day, with a horrendous result for a minor maths paper. Her dad fumed and caned her. She ran to the kitchen and sat down, leaning against the washing machine crying and rubbing her eyes for hours. Her mum sat down beside her, comforting her, persuading her to stop rubbing her eyes. But, she couldn't care less even when her eyes became swollen and red.

Finally, she was too tired to cry.

She stood up and washed her face only to feel the scroching heat at the skin around her eyes the moment water touches it. She nearly screamed for the pain on her tender skin was unbearable. Only then she realised that the skin around her eyes had came off after hours of rubbing. She regretted her action....but she was too tired and upset to care much about it either.

#The next day, the healing process began...as the skin nurse itself back to health, a layer of brown deposit formed around her eyes. She looked like a monster. Worse than it perhaps. Nevertheless, she went to school only to be greeted by classmates who shy away from her as if she has got some deadly disease. She felt sad, lonely and embarrassment.

Foruntately, she got over the whole terrible episode and moved on with life.

#She did reasonbly well for her PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examinations) scoring 3 As and 1 A* and got into a reputable school in the neighbourhood, Commonwealth Secondary School. She became a girl who wanted to be recognised, wanted to prove that she has grown up and could make decisions of her own. Her chance came when she got noticed by some PE teachers that she had potential in sports. Being gullible and naive (her eagerness to prove her worth also got the better of her judgement), she agreed to join the school's track and field team.

#The morning training started out as once per week. Slowly it became twice per week and she was obliged to attend afternoon trainings at MacRitchie Resvoir , even religiously report back to school during the holidays. Having to juggle with Choir and training at the same time put a strain on her studies. Her results slipped. She barely pass Maths. She couldn't believe herself that her capabilites was just mediocre. Her father couldn't believe it too and gave her a good scolding that night when she got back her results.

She remembered that she cried very badly that night. She kept drifting in and out of sleep, crying everytime she drifted out of sleep. She could hear her parents arguing about her. While her mum reasoned that her daughter shouldn't be given too much stress, her dad guarded his beliefs that his daugther had diverted her attention to unnecessay areas.

#She went to choir practice the next day with swollen eyes again but having learnt her lesson the painful way, she refrained from rubbing her eyes the night before. Nonetheless, her eyes were swollen. It was obvious to her friends that she had spent a night crying. They comforted her and tears welled up again at the thought of the night before.

#She didn't tell her friends that she comtemplated suicide that night. She asked herself in the mist of crying if she should just end her life there and then and be liberated from the miserables. But a voice with a strong conviction told her that she shouldnt be such a wimp. Instead, she should prove her father wrong and do her mother proud. Suicide thoughts were immediately wiped out of her minds with plans on how she is going to pick up the shattered pieces of her life. She decided, on that very night, to work very very hard, to get all her concepts right, leaving no questions unanswered just to get her grades.

#She quitted the track and field team not long after. It wasn't a cca she enjoyed much either. During secondary two, she worked harder than she has ever worked before and the results amaze her. From a near fail in maths, she scored nearly full marks (also thanks to a wonderful maths teacher of course). She did very well for science as well as geography too. Eventutally, from a scrap through at secondary 1, she was third in the class, 13th in the level. It was then that she realised that she could really do well if she put in all her efforts into her studies.

Since then, a mugger was born.

#People often commented that i am a mugger....well....having gone through all those painful experiences (which still can potentially bring me to tears when i get reminded of them), its hard not to become a mugger right? *winkS* So yep...that's my story...=)

><))o> 1 day to graduation

# counting down 8 days to Biology Practical A level Exam

# counting down 21 days to General Paper A Level Exam

#ooh...*stressed*...so...need to *destress* Best way to destress? Take photos!! Lots of it!! On tues, instead of doing the routine pe, me, intan and leena become Singapore's next top model (ok lah...i'm abit exaggerating!)....we were going wild taking photos....below are some of the photos we took...

See what i mean by *destressing* ? That's the way man!

Both leena and intan claimed that they looked like dead corpse in this photo...yah...i agree hehe..

My fave pic of all...!! I just loved the idea of lying down posing with a football in the middle! (that's Ganison's precious ball btw...)

My fave number, 3! HoNEST!!

Fandi Leena and Fandi Ganison....the next Ronaldo of Singapore!

Ok...that was a dumb pose...but nevertheless i felt humored looking at how stupid i looked with my head sticking out and Intan attempting to close the door!

The Hockey lians!

Intan and leena fooling around with the tree...

Aww...another of my faves...dont u just love the combination of lustrous green and red hot in one photo itself?

A stint at the balance beam...

The monkeys hanging themselves on the monkey bars obviously...(haha)

The two prisioners of AJC...

I went to pay leena a visit...(look at how sad i was...)

The toilet become our next target...

A toilet ad anyone?

# Went around taking pictures today again because....IT'S ONE DAY TO GRAUDATION...SOB!!!

Creative shot isint it? Meimei and intan were posing while me and leena made sure our reflection got captured just so that all four of us are in the picture!!! *A spark of genius*

Had a huge feast today....13 plates and bowls of food from different stores in AJ were shared among 7 persons namely myself, leena, jac, meimei, yanting, shuxin and shuqi...aww man...i tell ya...its the best meal i ever had in AJ...eating so much food at the some time with so many people was so enjoyable that i didn';t feel hungry for the next....5 hours or so?

meimei acting cute.....haha...

one last picture with Mrs Soon...aww...Mrs Soon, i'm gonna miss ya....*sob*

If you are wondering why i pose this pic...it is because if you look carefully, you can see brown stains on this wall...and the brown stains (as observed by meimei) kept appearing for some mysterious reasons even thought the wall has been repainted several times. We did examine that area and felt equally bewildered by the occurances as it was impossible for the stains to appear in a shelthered area. Hence our deduction is that....the stains were probably not made by humans....

Saw a pulley for the first time in my life *screams* so excited....so i took a pic of it...

While studying in library, meimei saw MacDonald's lastest ad. Mac is selling hellokitty stufftoys at $1.50 with each Extra Value Meal! We went to NYP and got it!!! Hehe...meimei brought the smoky quartz (the orangey one) while i bought the garnet quartz (the red one)...aww so nice right? We wanted the rose quartz one (pink) but the NYP outlet sold out all the pink one by 12 nn....

Lo and Behold! I saw that the rose quartz was available at Admiratly's Mac!!! So happy...so i went and got it just now for myself and meimei! Yippie!

><))o> 2 days to graduation day

# counting down 9 days to Biology Practical A Level Exam

# counting down 22 days to General Paper A Level Exam

# How sad....in 2 days time, i will no longer be an aj student...come to think of it, i've come to like the school after studying 2 years in AJ...it must have been because of caring teachers like Mrs Soon, Ms Kwan-Terry , wonderful friends like my gang and also a very enthu class like 0903 that made me thorougly enjoy my JC life. Thanks to all you people for sharing all the memories to me =)

# Frankly-speaking, i used to hate AJC not only because the school campus is old, it wasn't my first choice at all (my first choice was SAJC but because i shifted house, i had no choice but to go to AJ to avoid travelling). To make things worse , Ms THC (yes...that teacher that marked my GP paper 1 for prelims) was my pdg tutor and she probably enjoyed making my first 3 months life difficult (to hell with her!). I had little true friends from my first 3 months class because i never felt that my previous click clicked at all.....i was considered a pest in choir because i continuously absent myself from practices (i swear i have very good reasons for this!). Under the kind of circumstances i was in, i should have gone to another JC after the release of my results...infact i did consider about it. However, i decided to stay on (ironically AJ choir was the reason i chose to stay on) and boy was that the best choice i ever made in my life!!

#THings took a 180 degree turn after first 3 months. The reshuffling of students got me into another class with very unfamiliar faces...i got to know leena, meimei and intan, got to become good friends with marlin and jac (who were previously my first 3 months classmates but my click then viewed them as the mugger group and called them the A.I (artifical intelligence/ahmad ibrahim] group...till today, i think marlin and jac are still irritated about it!)...and of course, slowly i got to know the class, forged better bonds with teachers...blah and blah...

# All these seemed just like yesterday....but graduation is 2 days away....why does the 2 years seemed so short? First of all...its not exactly 2 years if you do the math probably...i just used a whole number for convenience sake . Secondly, time seems to fly past quickly when you are enjoying yourself. In a nutshell...i've been enjoying my JC life and the 2 years suddenly didn't seem so long at all....=)

# Just a little qoute before i'm off to mug....

Learn to live your present life and face up to daunting challenges with all the amazing memories you have from your past.

><))o> Undies for sale! Any takers?

#Opps...did i sound like a bitch? Nah...i'm not the one selling the undies....its someone else...the story goes like this....

#Last week, a person from friendster who goes by the name of rainywater sent me a message asking me if i want to sell my undies. She is paying $20 for my undies! Wow....have i suddenly transformed into a superstar or potential superstar that someone is so desparate to pay $20 bucks for something as personal as my underwear? Immediately, i thought of the underwear that has lost its elasticity, suffered from a few holes that i had found in the dustbin (apparently my mum threw it away because....it was in a state of no return!!)...a cheeky thought struck me....would it worth $20? Honestly...that underwear was brought....hmmm....when i was in primary school...it was probably on sale at 5 pieces for $2? Haha...if i sell it, i would make a hell of a profit and buy more decent underwears!!! *evil laughs*....but of course....why would i want to sell my underwear? I mean...its something so personal and morever...i wouldnt feel comfortable knowing that somewhere out there....some maniac probably has my underwear.....YUCKS!!! Naturally, i told the person "no thanks" hopping that it sounded like i had attitude problem and she would back off....

#BUT NO!!!!! She replied back! Guess what she said?? She said "just 1 piece can? i need it urgently..i will deposit the money into your account.." Piangz! I nearly fainted reading that...someone really wants my undies so much....that word "urgently" is particularly disturbing...well...can't be bothered with people like this...i decided not to reply this time *amy beams*

#So much for the story...so who is this bold entrepreneur? Dying to see her lu shan zhen mian mu (face) ? Muhahaha.....scroll down!!

#Tata....thats her (sorry i have no idea which one is it....i presume its the one on the left...her poor friend on the right got implicated too......or vice versa....)

#above was the message she sent me....hehe....(sorry girl...you haven't told me not to reveal your picture and message...)

#I'm outa here after some satisfying havoc which i have just created!

><))o> The Da Vinci Code

#Read The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown sometime ago and if i had ten thumbs, i would give it ten thumbs up!! The book is really a masterpiece not only in the language itself but the plot, the kind of thinking process and research that the author went through and did to formulate codes with double meanings. Dan Brown is truly a master at crytology. Another aspect about the book that intrigued me was the description of the famous paintings by Leonardo Da Vinci such as Virgin of the Rocks, The Mona Lisa and also The Last Supper. When i have the time, i swear i will put up those pictures and tell you guys the hidden meaning of the pictures alright? If you have read the book, I'm sure you would have felt like Sherlock Homles playing detective along with Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu. If you haven't read the book? Oh man! What are you waiting for?? Grab the book and indulge in it!!! That's all folks! Been really busy mugging lately...but i will try to blog whenever i can!! Take care readers!!

><))o> the stars of AJC

#A few days ago, the termly AJ publication called AJ Link was out and being distributed among the classes...this colourful magazine is like a god sent gift compared to the black and white lecture notes or tutorials that we normally get and so it is no doubt that we eagerly flipped through the magazine when we get our hands on it...when we come to the centrefold of the magazine...we saw our (0903) picture right smacked in the middle!! And it was ridiculously big! We looked ridiculously hilarious!!! The picture was taken when we were cheering away knowing that we had won the AJ amazing race! (If you have no idea what i am talking about, refer to one of my early aug entry) And because all of us looked so excited, we looked so funny!! Here's our elated faces...

# As you can see...all of us are in a state of euphoria as if we strike lottery or got 4 distinctions for our A levels...haha...leena was shouting so happily away that she really look like a hippo (she herself noted that her mouth looked so big!!)...Bernard was like rising his hand up as if he was Christopher Colombus who had just discoverd America while Hueychyi had her hand over her mouth in a state of disbelief that we had won...haha...whatever the reason for the idiot actions we have...we really look happy...never looked happier before as a class...personally...i'm honestly glad that the photo was published because that serves as a memory to each and everyone of us in 0903 that we had won the AJ race. What's more important is the unity that the picture tell of....=) Ohoh...if you have noticed, i'm at the bottom left hand corner taking pictures...so...Muhahahaha....i have a picture of the photographer taking a picture of us....*evil laughs*

#there she is....Miss Florence Lee!! Haha...and of cos...our leader, Yonghao receiving the prize from Mr Tan....hahaha...what an irony....her picture tells of our story while mine tell of hers....
