><))o> Good teachers vs bad teachers

#Have you ever met good teachers that are so dedicated and encouraging that you in turn get motivated to study? (Well at least for that teacher's sake?) Then have you ever met bad teachers that make you loathe the subject that he/she teaching just because he or she is teaching that subject? Unforunately...i met some very bad and incompetent teachers that made me hate cetain subjects. But forunately for me, about 90% of the teachers who have taught me are very nice and passionate people. Unforunately, during this prelim, two of my scripts are marked by two teachers one of which i totally loathe and the other, suffering from a disgusting case of imcompetency!

#My GP paper 1, which was essay, was marked by Ms THC (i shall be nice and just put her initials)!! This is one woman that i really hate and the hatred started from J1 when she was my PDG tutor....she always look like she has some attitude problem and she is always quick to refute any constructive ideas the student suggest during GP which often makes us feel that she is not very receptive of ideas and fiercely guarding her own beliefs. As i've said...my miserable script was marked by her and it seemed like 70% of my point sounded silly or illogical to her...thereby i failed with a pathetic score of 20/50. I wouldn't deny that my language ability was atrocious but i think i would have fared better if my script was marked by someone else or if i have just chosen another question to do in the first place...

#Maths - I failed my paper 2 with a score of 38.5/100, something which i was already expecting. However, when i checked through the papers, i made a shocking discovery - my last question was not marked! Oh my Gawd!!! (yes...omg!) And the teacher who marked that question was actually a sotong math teacher whom i have no idea how on earth he earned his First Class Honours. So much for that....my papers was sent in for marking and i managed to earn a few more marks to allow me to improve a grade higher...=)

#Overall...i did pretty ok...except for bio (which i have yet to get back my papers), i fared pretty well for chem and maths (dont talk about GP man...)...i actually exceeded my own expectation....this is especially so for chemistry...so...i'm happy=) But this is no time to be complacent...i'm now motivated to sprint for my last leg of race!

GO AMY!

><))o> Happy 18th birthday Leena!!

Happy birthday to leena
Happy birthday to leena
Happy birth....day....to....leena....
Happy birthday to YOU!!!

#See leena....i so good...remember to sing you birthday song leh...on my blog somemore...haha...=P

#Okie...that aside...here are the photos taken from intan's aunty's wedding and the birthday celebration for 0903's most scandalous couple - Leena and Boonkiat (Their birthdays are only 1 day apart so we thought we sabo them...*evil laughs*

The arrival of the groom! See the uncle that looks like Singapore's President, Mr S R Nathan? That's Intan's grandfather!

The guy dressed in dark pink like a Sultan is the bridegroom. He has such a lovely dimple on the right side of his cheek...aww...

The man in black is doing silat, a form traddition malay martial art.

The blushing bride and cheeky-looking bridegroom.

From left: marlin, me, leena and intan!

Intan looking like a maid with her rag and hagged looked.

OKie....we are not in anyway directly related to the couple...but...we thought we should just take a photo for keepsake...haha....so thick skin!!

Me and marlin fooling around at the playground behind the banquet area. Leena finds us foolish for our acts but i find leena stupid to try to act "mature" (see below pic!).

Leena insist on just taking the pics normally (so boring)!

The gang of 4 out of 6 once again...

Oooo...this is one of the makkal i was saying that jac would like...he is the one who knew that we are taking photo of him...muhaha....but too bad...jac doesn't seem too interested with him! So much for my effort...=(

This is the makkal with the soothing voice....but too bad...jac also dont like...

The bride and bridegroom leaving for Bedok South where there is another banquet specially setup for the bridegroom's family and friends.

Our very scandalous couple - Leena and Boony!! We forced them to cut the cake together so that they look like they are cutting their wedding cake...muahahah!

Ooo...the gang looking all sian....

Bernard (the guy with the black bag) wanted to rape boonkiat! Hence he is holding onto boony's bag to use it as a bait!

Above are intan's overdue present (the one in the bronze box.) Its a butterfly penchant with an orange lace string...The present with a lavender wrapping is Leena's present. We got her a palette of eyeshadow because her makeup set was pathetic and she kinda need some quality makeup set...we thought we start her off with the eyeshadow palette..hehe...

#alright...i outa here!

><))o> dusting my blog

#Whey hey people...sorry haven't been blogging since my prelims end and i am armed with very reasonable reasons...well...reasons are supposed to be reasonable right? Only excuses aren't reasonable...eh...oh well...the reasons being:
1. My dad is back from overseas and he has been bugging the computer.
2. I'm having such a wonderful slacking session that i'm too tired to use the pc much less than to fight over the pc with my dad.

With that said, i will now officially "report" my doings for the past few days starting from thursday.

THURSDAY
#Went shopping with meimei at orchard...haven't bought anything though...only Leena and Intan's present...meimei was abit upset about not getting anything for herself. Mind you, the thing that actually caught her eyes that day was a white Herms-lookalike bag (a smaller version of it) with a button that says "strawberry leaves" and with a price tag of $129!!! Being a calculative person (as Jac has "affectionately" associated me with...which i think if crudely put, should be stingy), i started discouraging meimei from buying the bag...i mean...what? $129 leh!! That is effectively 43 bowls of ban mian if each bowl is priced at $3!! Hehe...think she kinda upset about not getting it...

Meimei, nevermind lah...next time i become millionaire then i get it for you okie? Hehe...anyway...we took some pics....

Nice right? So the nice pictures kinda neutralise the saddness we are feeling...=)

FRIDAY
#Ooo...lots to blog about! On friday, i went to the gym in the morning with jac and afterwhich slack at her house waiting for leena to wake up from her beauty sleep so that we could go over to her house. Jacintha's dog, Charlie, was such a cutie!!! It is quite a glutton too! It had wanted to eat the biscuit that i was eating...btw, the dog loves whatever jacintha loves! Talk about like owner like dog!

At about 10.20am, we headed to leena's house where we were greeted by a very unfriendly dog named Belle and her mother, Buffy, who was more mild-tempered. We played Twister while waiting for meimei to arrive. Leena was so unlucky with Twister! She was practically doing a split and her hands crossing over! She looked so hilarious!! At that point, she got kinda fed up and decided to end the game...Muhahaha...!

After meimei's arrival, we chatted awhile, ate...then i started to teach Leena and meimei photoshop. (Think i can skip the photoshop part...rather boring i would say!) After a few hours at the pc, we went back to playing Janger (u know..that game whereby you have to take a block from the bottom and put it on the top ensuring that the whole setup doesnt topple over?). We decided that whoever who loses, has to do a forfeit. The forfeit? Do prank calls, pretending to be a person called "Keropal Singh" and accused the person whom we called of kicking "Keropal Singh's dog" and threatening to kill the person. Lame right? But it was funny though. And guess what? I lost!!! What the hell....leena was like so reckless with removing her blocks yet she survived...but me...i was carefully and delicate...yet i lost!

Leena says its some physic shit...(arh...Watever!) So i did the call...our first target was Bernard...so i went "Bernard arh....You kick my dog right?! If i find out that it is you, which i am sure it is, i will kill you arh! YOu better watch out!" Afterwhich i passed the phone to leena who went "this is keropal singh!" then bernard hung up. We did the prank call on intan too who immediately recognised Leena's voice and heard jacintha's hysterical laughter which kinda gave us away. After intan, we called Yanting who kept going "huh? huh?". After the call to yanting, bernard called leena's handphone. It was then that we realised that bernard and yanting were together!!! What the (*@#^ 4! So...even though leena die die also don't want to admit that she was the caller, bernard kinda knew....ah...anyway, me and leena decided to tell them tomorrow...haha....

Friday was awesome man....it was really quality time spent with my gang...

SUNDAY
#Today me, leena and marlin went to attend Intan's aunty's wedding...grand affair i must say...it was so cool! There was a live Hindi band playing and shortly after our arrival, the bridegroom came with all the drummers, his friends and relatives whom we dubbed "man in black" because they were all wearing back suits with the top two buttons undone *whistles*.

The three of us kinda got the VIP seats...the table closest to the "altar" (i really dont know what's the set up called)...so when the groom came, we saw everything that was going on at the "altar" which was an eye-opening experience for us (at least for me and leena lah...)...we were making so much jokes and crappy conversations there that time seemed to fly pass so quickly! We took some pictures (which i promise to upload once i get my hands on it) and also took a sneak shot of the hindi band which comprises of two very good looking makkals ("the cool people" in Indian terms) to spite jacintha knowing that she has such a thing going on for makkals...haha...

#wow...so long a blog...=P sorry people to put you through such tortures...you'll be glad to know that this is the end of the entry!

><))o> Temporal freedom

#alright! Prelims are finally over! Reflecting on my study attitude, i havent been entirely please with myself because towards the end of prelims, i lost the motivation to study...i haven't did as much practice as i would had hope, haven't got some important information into my brain...but overall, i knew i gave at least 70% of effort....i'm certain that maths and gp will probably be the two worse-scoring subjects while i pray that i improve my chem and hopefully do ok for bio...=) I haven't found chem and bio papers particularly daunting....esp chem...it was defintely easier than the mid-years. =) Oh well...i hope i get at least a reasonoable grade for prelims...maybe 2 Ds at least...i'll be happy then and more motivated to sprint my last lag of race.

#meanwhile...it's time to rock!! Yesterday my bf and i went to JB and i brought The Sims 2! Awesome game i must say!!! If you are never a big fan of The Sims, it is really time u start considering playing the game because i'm sure you will be captivated with the characters, their lives and opportunities zooming their way! Sims 2 rocks even more so than The Sims....so do check the game out!

#Oh oh...and a big thank you to all those who have been concern and gave their upmost encourage to me during this period of time (you guys know who u are!)...thanks!

-amy out, indulging in The Sims 2-

><))o> the torment shall be gone.....soon lah

# Yuppy...its 2 official days to the end of prelims (for me) with 3 more officially papers to go....had pretty much lost the motivation to study (naughty me) because prolong studying (which i think i started about 1 month after mid year till now?) simply SUCKS! I'm so drained out now...frustrated too because i find myself forgetting important things when i should remember them...Mrs Soon always says "if you find yourself not getting the right anwers or getting stuck, its time to sleep!" (ok lah...she didn't exactly say sleep...she said "take a rest" during exam and "take a nap" if you are at home) So...i am slacking big time now...

# Today was bio paper 3...and as expected...that inconsiderate girl beside me took off her shoes again...but i told myself to be focused and i ignored her...anyway...the paper was time-pressing also...so i didn't had much time to idle!

# Got a call from my second elder brother just now to go downstairs and meet him. He has something to pass me. Wheee....so happy...hardly get to see my brother because he travel around alot!! He passed me some mooncakes...which is like so sweet and cute of him...the mooncakes are not the normal mooncakes...it looks like agar agar mooncake...hehe cant wait to tell my mum when she gets back! Haha...okie...back to mugging for me now...*groans*

#btw...tagboard's down again (what? again? yeah...AGAIN!)...so if you have a comment, just drop it at the comment box below (arrows pointing down)

#AHHHHH....hippos of heaven, monkeys of earth, WHY DO I HAVE TO STAND DIRECTLY UNDER A BIRD'S LATERINE TODAY?!?!?! It is ok that the bird pooed but....IT DIDN'T FLUSH!!! ARghhhh....! Guess i am just unluckily....or very lucky so to speak....

Monday, September 13, 2004 , 8:12 PM

><))o> the big P have offically started

#The big P i am referring to is the "Prelims"....yep...today was biology paper 1 and 2. Paper 1 consists of 40 MCQs which i found reasonably ok (fairly simple i guess)...it was way too much time to give 1 hour 15 min for the paper...i think within 45 mins i finished (ok...i'm not boosting really...now tell me, how many of you finished within that amount of time? See. Almost all of you!) ...i felt like sleeping because my head really felt heavy (damn the flu!) but i saw Mr Ong standing near me and i decided against it. I don't want to look like a primary school kid who needs like 12 hours of sleep per day...worse still, i might just become the next target of Mr Ong's criticism!

So instead of going to Zzzz land, i decided to check through my paper thoroughly and boy, that probably saved me from losing a few more unnecessary marks...really hope i could do well for MCQ because i totally flop at paper 2. It isin't because the questions are tough...its more like i couldn't put my thoughts into words (a sign that i lack practice!)...and unfortunately, i didn't have enough time to finish the paper (this time they gave too little time)...i wonder if the biology department did their math correctly...or maybe they aren't very good at counting...or at least Mr Ong isin't (*evil laughs*)....okok i know....stop blaming the whole world except myself. I know...i'm lazy...didn't practice...so for As, i must practice!

#Oh oh...i think i am really suay today....i have to sit beside a slacker (or so i assume...she must be a slacker lah...i'm quite sure...)....during paper 1, she sat like a soldier, resting the ankle of her right leg on the lap of her left leg and kept shaking it....she is really distracting me....and she looked like she couldn't be bothered to do the paper....what the....! And if this isin't bad enough, guess what she did during paper 2? SHE TOOK OFF HER SHOES!!! Yeah...you saw it right. She took off her shoes...and she didn't even wear socks! Can you believe it?!?! No socks....no shoes...just her bare, naked legs! I think i nearly fainted....did i smell some weird odour?I don't know...even if i didn't, my mind must have imagined it! Gawd....what luck man....she even had time to take off her shoes...doesn't that show that she is a slacker? I'm kinda sure that she didn't know how to do the questions and therefore suddenly found herself having to kill 2 hours of time. And of all things, she had to choose to take off her shoes to kill time...oh yucks! I was disgusted over and over again...i'm so relief when the paper finally ended...The thought of having to sit beside her for Biology paper 3 is just traumatizing. I suddenly wished that she will come prepared...then again...fat hope...i think she's a total slacker! Well then...good luck to me!

#After the exam, i went to Chong Pang and met up with my mum for dinner. After dinner, my mum suggested that we sit at the void deck and enjoy one of nature's greatest phenomenon - birds returning to their nest! Ok... if you think that i am saying just a few pathetic birds flying back to their treehouses then you are wrong! It is like probably a million birds, appearing in large groups each time, flying back to their homes within a period of an hour (from 6pm to 7pm). The scene is just amazing...perhapes even better than those you see at Sungei Buloh.

These unusual number of birds residing at Chong Pang have caught the attention of the media in the light of the bird flu outbreak. It seems that the authorities are comtemplating to cut these trees so that hopefully that will disperse the bird and decrease the chances of these birds catching the bird flu together (mass infection i should say). What bullshit is this? It is as good as saying, if someone who live in blk XXX is suspected of having SARS (or any other transmissable diseases), blk XXX should be demolished. Crap isin't it? Why should we destroy something so beautiful? And as if it isin't bad enough that people call Singapore the concrete jungle! And it is not as if these cute birds catch the bird flu...its chickens ok? Chickens don't go flying around in the city! Infact chickens are too heavy to fly...so what's the link that these birds will catch the flu? Through the soil? Nonsense!

People can be so cruel sometimes....we invade, we conquer and we subdue (doesn't it just sound like the Japanese soldiers during WW2?)...you know...we always go like "aiyo...so cruel...how could they do such things" when we ourselves are stepping on bugs or pushing for the trees to be cut. We aren't better. Admit it. Humans are a bunch of senseless idiot. Yes we are. Admit it. And those Chechen rebels...nothing better to do issit? Go and hold the poor children hostages for what? If they are so sicked of this world, then just go to hell lah. Or maybe hell won't even accept them...they will be sent to somewhere worse! And i damn well hope those that have died will never rest in peace. May them will always be guilt-ridden even in a place worse than hell. Amen.

#We humans are constantly trying to protect ourselves from this very world that we are living it. The more we try to keep ourselves from harm, to uphold our dignity, the more we are destroying this world that we are living in. Nature has given us so much. But what have we gave in return? When the world comes to an end, we have only ourselves to blame.

><))o> A new layout!!

#Hey guys! I'm have did a new layout...this time i adapted the images from jimmy liao's A Chance of Sunshine. I love jimmy liao's work....it's just full of surrealism....your wildest imagination can be found in his work! Of all his works, A Chance of Sunshine is one of my favourites...so i decided to do a skin based on this =) I kinda love it....just that i gotta get used to the layout...=) Haha....

To meimei: My pinky blog is gone! Hehe...how's this one?

><))o> IML (into a mugger's life)

#If could take a look into my brain now, you wouldnt see anything but formulas and formulas, profound info like "trachieds are stained red/green/pink" , " kw = [OH-][H+]" , etc. I'm seriously tired of mugging....especially doing all those complicated questions from top 5 junior colleges....! Oh man...i cant wait for prelims to be over...i want to relax, do something nice like play badminton or swimming!!! Ahh....this week is such an agonising one!!

Sigh...i have no idea what to blog about...life is extremely boring now...revolving around nothing but books....and notes....oh yes...i flew a kite yesterday! It wasn't particularly windy but my mum, being an expert, managed to get the kite high up into the sky....whenever i see the kite, i feel as if my woes and worries are a thousand miles away...and for a while, i feel that life isin't so stressful...perhapes i am too hard on myself....
